Family Tree

Words become unspoken
Memories are left to be broken
Distance separate’s you from me
And time gets in the way of everything
My emotions wilt like a willow
1 and 2 don’t add up
discrepancy, I’ve had enough
I dust off my shoulders, rolling off are big boulders
Forgiveness seeps down into my core
There use to be four but now there’s three
Tell me what happened to our family tree
Arguments turn into sudden pleas
as the hands around me tighten and squeeze
