Possibly the most important day if my life

As stressful year dwindles down to an end I was fortunate enough to have been able to take one last trek around Kansas City before I go back home. KCMO is one of the most peaceful places that I have been to. It is full of quirky places with creative spaces and vibrant culture. Nature seems to defiantly be happy in the native lands of Missouri.

Somewhere in the woods
This video was takin a couple of months ago, probably around February. My partner in crime and I decided to take the new nikon out for an adventure. We went trail hiking and stumbled upon this little tin "thing" not sure what it was once used for but the graffiti on it was pretty sick. In the video you will see my friend try and make a jump to a table that was in the river. (it was a lot further than it looked.)
"if you want adventure, take a step outside."

gardens part 1
I went to the Botanical gardens over the past weekend to take pictures and i also squeezed in a little video. Although the flowers have not yet sprung it was still nice to get out for a little adventure.

Family Tree
Words become unspoken
Memories are left to be
broken
Distance separate’s you from
me
And time gets in the way of
everything
My emotions wilt like a
willow
1 and 2 don’t add up
discrepancy, I’ve had enough
I dust off my shoulders,
rolling off are big boulders
Forgiveness seeps down into
my core
There use to be four but now
there’s three
Tell me what happened to our
family tree
Arguments turn into sudden
pleas
as the hands around me
tighten and squeeze
Corrupt Government
In this world we can not
describe how we feel
Every emotion comes with a
price that we can not peal
The economy goes up,
The government gets stronger
And these people can’t stand
it any longer.
Everybody is trying to get
that green
Weather it’s weed or money
from a tree
This country is hypocritical
We are not free
Look out of the window and
tell me what you see?
People on the streets
struggling to make ends meat
Look at these kids without
shoes on their feet
They’ve got blisters from the
heat.

"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God; not by works, so that no one can boast." Ephesians 2:8-9
Recently I have been struggling to "redeem" myself through my own personal "works" and each time I have failed because I can't do it on my own. I know deep down that there is no use in striving to redeem myself on my own terms and yet I continue to do it. Each time I fail, it reminds me of what Paul says about having a thorn in his flesh, a messenger of satan. Paul pleaded three time for God to take it away, and each time God replied "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. " So each time I fail I remember Paul and I remember what God says to him because that is exactly what He is saying to me...Be still and know that I Am God.

Air (a short response)
I am fascinated with the way AIR consumes volumes
breathing life into emptiness
consumption and contemplation can be seen where air is carried
through.
The production of air produces oxygen,
which then breeds life into the lungs of humans.
inevitably producing thought.

Nature
The simplicity of nature is forever thought provoking. Nature has a way of making the most simplistic things turn into something that is complicated.
I recently got a camera for Christmas, a Nikon d33 to be exact, and I can honestly say that it has made my views on the beauty of nature change so drastically that if I could take a picture of everything that I saw, I would. I encourage everyone reading this to take time out if their day and really take in what you see.
The Flower
Before a flower becomes a flower
it must start out as a seed.
like all living things
it has wants and needs.
the presence of water is vital to sustaining its present being
as the water seeps down into every crack, drenching life into a dried up corps
the seed has one of two choices,
it can absorb what it has been given
or it can reject life
and be stricken to a life of well hidden meanings
like the flower
we have the option to choose life or death
with every breath that we breathe in
we fill the masses of empty spaces
like air filling up volumes
consumption of self pity and denial
will eat at the core until it becomes bile
all the while
forgetting that we are human.
as the light consumes the dark
careless tears stream down the face of a body that is as empty as a corps left to dry.
